Why do you coach?

I coach because of my love for the game. Soccer was my life growing up and opened the doors to so many experiences that most don’t get, and I just want to pay it forward to the youth in Alaska. The teams I coach are familiar with my background, but I just want to use my experiences to create that same environment for lifelong friendships, a hard work ethic, and being good humans. There’s so much more to the game than what happens on the field and I hope to pass that on to future generations. There’s not a lot that can compare to seeing the development happening amongst the youth players and watching their growth over time, showing them what they are capable of.

Why Alaska Rush?

Choosing Alaska Rush was an easy decision. Not only because I played Rush growing up, but I truly believe in everything they are doing to create the best possible environment for youth soccer players, not to mention the experience and knowledge of the coaching staff, best in Alaska!  The opportunities you have being a part of Rush are a huge perk, especially for Alaskan players. Rush is the largest youth soccer organization in the world, and the opportunities for guest playing with other Rush teams around the country to getting chosen for Rush Select are such great resources. They are constantly pushing both coaches and players to be the best versions of themselves, while providing the resources to do so. Putting my own daughter in Alaska Rush was a no brainer!

Other than coaching, what do you enjoy doing?

Spending time with my family, hiking, camping
